Look Coco 15

This look has been inspired by the Kilim fashion series for Milk magazine N°30 - Kilims by Karel Balas (photos) and Isis-Colombe Combréas (style). It is featuring some brands that I like very much such as Epice for their scarfs, Dominique Ver Eecke with its vintage illustrations printed on skirts and Madreperla.
Here, Colette is wearing a blue cotton sweater Basile & Boniface from a second hand shop in Paquis : Caprices d'enfants. Her cotton skirt with flowers is from Monoprix as well the red tights.

How fun is it to cook with rafinesse & tristesse.

I'm very fan of the creativity shown by rafinesse & tristesse in the conception of their cookers (Frizzle sizzle) and sinks (Splish splash). As you can see, rafinesse & tristesse products are based on the concept of using recycled items. The designers rework them into high quality furniture pieces and miniature kitchens complete with accessories (decorative borders, clocks, hooks and cupboards). Each piece is hand made in Germany and Switzerland therefore unique. I appreciate the care that is given to every detail and color choices.

BOOK Le Noël de Rita et Machin

Christmas eve goes very fast with the turbulent Rita & Machin. Between writing the letter to Santa Claus at the last minute, decorating the tree, baking the Yule Log, preparing a snack for Santa and some treats for the reindeer, getting up at night to try to see Santa and finally finding all the gifts under the tree! The hectic pace of these two little rascals remind us the excitement that reigns at home that day !
The illustrations is what really caught my eye on this serie of French picture books (translated into over 15 languages). What I liked first it's the line drawing that is very present and the use of the duotone, which is daring for a children's album, and then the shifted tone, tonic and impertinent. The happy daily lives of the precocious five-year-old girl named Rita and her easy-going yet somewhat lazy dog named Machin are broadcasted in Japan and soon in France.
